All in the Perspective
In my
research portion of this assignment, I plan to look at different apocalyptic
writings and how they approach the “end of the world”. I have thought about the
different writings I will use and have made a decision to definitely use the
Bible and Parable of the Sower (so
far, it is my favorite text), and I have been sorting through more modern
writings such as The Maze Runner,
The Hunger Games, as well as the
Divergent trilogy. Though this may
seem as just a summary of the course, I want to focus on how literature can give
a true/false perspective of apocalyptic times, depending on an individual’s
point of view. For example, for those that do not believe in The Bible, the
words found in Revelation could seem
absurd. My fear with this is that it is too large of a topic to tackle in the
timeframe; with that, there is the chance that I will have to narrow in my topic
or reduce my number of sources.
