Essay topic 2: Overall description of your learning experience in LITR 3731 Creative Writing and its potential applications to your writing / teaching career. Kim Davis . . . My favorite Minot morsel was, “Face it, fiction writers are as unscrupulous as magpies, borrowing and stealing whatever suits their fancy.” I didn’t get what I came into the course hoping for, I got something better: a firm foundation upon which to begin a career, and a group of peers to whom I can turn for peer reviews. I believe one of the best things that came from this class was the call to create our own creative writing club of sorts. In exchanging e-mails, we are able to keep in contact with each other and swap works for critique. Because I know the group and have grown more comfortable with our critiques, I will be more apt to send them some of my work to review. This can also be helpful with other classes that require writing in the future. . . .
