The Witch

Dam it! — he is at it again

Why can he not see what we see?

Back and forth and forth and back

Dip and dap, heavy stuff

Doesn’t he get tired—we do!

Oh great, now he’s sick

—shivering

—shakes

—scratching

—vomiting too

Why can’t he stop!

It consumes him you know

Like a monkey on his back

He lies

He steals

He begs

Then…

He nods

and nods

and nods…

floating - ecstasy he claims

but for how long?

What is the use!

Back at it again

The lying

The stealing

The begging

“Oh I promise after this one…no more…I promise

Sick again

—shivering

—shakes

—scratching

— vomiting too…

Pick the skin…blood runs in…ahh that feels so, so  goo..

What?— too much—a dimes worth—he’s gone

No more shivering

No more shakes…

No more scratching…

No more vomiting…

No lying, no stealing, no begging…

He finally stopped!

Well… it stopped him…

God in the Garden

Each morning I awake to see what is new

To see what the Lord has left holding, His dew

Aha— there it is,

I spot one, I see

What magnificent colors He has left for me

Each morning I wait and I wonder and I stare

Will there be something new He has left out there

They peek from below,

if only to show…

What magnificent colors He has left for me

Each morning I glimpse at His miraculous wonders

And see all the beauty that lives under

Some stand tall, while others stand low

Lined up together in obedient rows

What magnificent colors He has left for me

Each morning I see how His love does show

Through these little thing where life does grow

The beauty, the splendor, oh the variety

He constantly lets me know “I am close you see” (He is so close to me ) replaced

What magnificent colors He has left for me

Each morning I go like clockwork you see

To see what my God has left for me

Purple, and red and yellow too

Why He even make ones that show up as blue

What magnificent colors He has left for me

Each morning I know He will always be there

If only I look, with a focused stare

It is not hard to see Him, He is everywhere

But in the garden… I see Him there

What magnificent colors He has left for me.
