Discussion Leader's
Questions |
Heidi Gerke, Discussion Questions for
Karen Heidrich's Applied Therapy
- What made you decide to name your
character Carlyle? I never would have expected that to be a name of a female
character.
- You underline your character’s
thoughts in some places. Is this to emphasize a thought, or merely to denote
thought?
- Billy Wayne is an interesting
character. He seems like a victim of never growing up once he graduated from
high school. Is this the type of appeal you wanted him to have?
- Being that these are just a few
excerpts from your novel, is there anything you think the class needs to
know to better understand what is going on?
- What plans do you have for the
future of the story? Specifically including the cowboy next door. Is he
going to play a part? And is there something behind the fact that he does
resemble Billy Wayne so much?
Class Discussion Questions
- Do you think the author did well in
selecting scenes in a way that they flowed together?
- Do you feel like there is enough
information provided in these selections alone to get an idea of what is
going on?
- What did you think of the way she
presented the relationship between Carlyle and Billy Wayne?
