LITR 3731 Creative Writing Report for week of Feb. 14 & 21 Dr. White, This is my report for the week of February 14th and 21st. I did not send you a report last week, because I was preparing my poem and exchange report so this report includes both weeks. I am anxious to get started on the fiction piece and see what other have to say. Responding to Webpage The reading for Feb. 14th : Several of the techniques that I believe will help me with this assignment are: The 7 deadly sins of fiction. I can see myself falling into one of these plots/storylines very easily.I already see the initial thoughts that come to mind to fall under the titles of The adolescent tragedy and my weird dreams. I am also trying to remember that it is ok to write and then revise, revise, revise. I tend to get a bit ahead of myself and start changing things before they need to be changed to complete the story. I hope to be able to find a good middle ground between ordinary and extraordinary, to find a story line that others will enjoy reading. There are some excellent poems being posted by my fellow classmates and they are all so different. I checked out Christiana’s books and read her bio. It is interesting how she got started in writing. The excerpt of her books were good, I really was hoping to continue the whole story. I am anxious to hear a report on the things she spoke of. Communicating with online student Bonnie Napoli communicated with me this week. We were also in your American Renaissance class together last semester. She briefed me on how the class was run and she expressed how amazed she was at the variety of the poems that are offered in class. My Work in Progress We are now beginning to start the Fiction part of the class, but have been so focused on getting the final draft of the poem together and explained, that I have not started on my fiction piece. I do know that I need to put a piece of paper next to my bed, because I was dreaming about this class the other night and came up with a wonderful story line (my weird dreams), but for the life of me can not remember it. So the brainstorming continues. Thank you, Audra Caldwell
