Final Exam Assignment

Write a two-hour essay in response to one of the following assignments:

Option 1. What is gained by studying Literature of Space and Exploration, for either a student of literature, a teacher, or the general public?

You may choose from two options. The more likely choice will concern the subject matter: What did you learn about exploration and its representation by literature? If, however, the subject matter of Space and Exploration now leaves you cold, you can treat the subject matter neutrally and ask yourself, What did you learn about genres? (In other words, what can one learn about genres by attempting a multi-genre study of a given subject, in this case Space and Exploration but potentially substitutable.)

Option 2. Revise, extend, or defend an objective (or part or parts of one) and apply the objective to at least three primary texts. Involve at least one secondary source with your discussion. Explain the importance of this objective in relation to essay 1.
