Before class . . .

Student presenter reviews assigned video(s). (If DVD, instructor provides in advance.)

            Student is not responsible for screening entire video but is expected only to watch enough to satisfy presentation requirements.

Questions to consider (during preparation or as questions for discussion)

How do the direction, acting, and / or settings confirm, enrich, or challenge expectations from reading the text?

In class . . .

1. Student previews scene selections (i.e. where the scenes occur in action of the play) + reasons for choosing these scenes & what to look for.

2. Student shows scenes. At end of each scene, student comments on highlights or issues, asks questions of class, or opens discussion to comments and questions.

For questions, ask students if they saw what you saw, or what else they saw relevant to discussion. Especially consider confirmation or variation of genre conventions.

Presenter may replay parts for further review.

3. When discussion seems complete, student summarizes what may be learned from video with the text we're reading.

What's the difference between reading a text and seeing a film of it?
