LITR 5831 Seminar in Multicultural Literature:

American Immigrant

poetry reader

Assigned student reads assigned poem and leads seminar discussion. You may use the computer-projector, or instructor can help.

The order of the following requirements is flexible.

1. Introduce, read aloud, and briefly interpret your assigned poem relative to one or two course objectives, and / or relate to other texts read in class.

2. Ask question(s) and lead discussion of the poem.

3. Ten-minute time limit for presentation itself. Discussion may run longer.

4. Concentration on poem's meaning seems natural for most readers and seminars, but welcome also to focus on technique.
