My intention regarding my research plan for the fall semester of LITR 5731 Multicultural Literature/Colonial-Post Colonial is as follows:

                I have chosen to write two research posts as opposed to one Research Project.  The first of my posts will involve attending the Caridad Svich play “House of the Spirits” and reading the novel of the same name by Isabel Allende.  My goal in my first post will be to research exactly how much House of the Spirits is discussed in a post colonial context.  I will also attempt to analyze the differences in the transition from the novel to play form.  After completing the novel and seeing the play, it is inevitable that more patterns of discussion and analysis will emerge and make their way into my post (perhaps the comparison of villains in House of the Spirits and Train to Pakistan?).

                At the present time, my direction for the second research post is somewhat unclear.  It is my hope, over the next few weeks of class, to identify and pursue various angles based on course texts and classroom discussions.
