Research Projects:  Journals

I want to focus on journals this week because many of you seemed very curious about them last week.  I, personally, enjoy doing the journal.  I have even been known to do them on my own.  There is much more freedom with the journal.  If you choose the journal, keep in mind that it is a tool you may refer back to in the future.

The following are examples that you may find useful:

2006

Karen Daniel’s journal (color code)

Danielle Lynch-Masterson (Mexican American self-sabotage)

Crystal Reppert (building a reading list of Mexican American topics to be used in a high school classroom)

2004

Kristy Pawlak (building a reading list of African American topics for use in high school classroom)

As I reviewed these journals, I found some material useful to my own research project.  I planned to do the journal until Dr. White suggested the conference paper.  If I were doing the journal, I would use this as an opportunity to research Native American legend, lore, and creation mythology to build a foundation for a fantasy novel I’m working on called Earth Fairy
