dystopia—dysfunctional world attempting to recreate itself

In attempts to continue human life in an uncertain future, a time-travel team transports passengers from past airliners before they crash to repopulate a world found in the distant future. During a mission, the team gets distracted by a hostile passenger and leaves one of their weapons, a stunner, behind.

Louise and her team must go back and retrieve the stunner before the lead investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board discovers it during his research and causes a change in history. Unfortunately, times were drastically changed by the failure of the mission causing the end of the future that everyone knew.

Questions for Discussion:

-         In the movie, transporting passengers into the future through time machine saved their lives. If this were possible, would this benefit the future of humankind?

-         If this concept were used for saving all lives, could this bring the possibility of immortality?
