the Future Thursday, 14 June: Future-vision presenter: Tracie Gipson The Adventures of Pluto Nash Objectives: 1A – Narratives about the future (Apocalyptic) Summary of the Movie: Pluto Nash (Eddie Murphy) is the coolest guy on the moon in the year 2080. He is admired by street criminals for his former career as a smuggler of black market Earth goods. And he is admired by the upper crust for his success in running Club Pluto, the trendiest night spot in the city of Little America. But because Pluto is so popular, he is hated by Rex Crater (identity is a spoiler), a mob who runs a corrupt casino, the Lunar Grand, in the nearby city of Moon Beach. When Rex offers to buy out Club Pluto, Nash refuses, and soon he is on the run from a band of Rex's henchmen. After his successful night club is blown to flaming bits, Pluto and his band travel across the moon looking for clues as to who is behind the arson. Along with Bruno and Dina, Pluto visits a seedy motel, his secret hideout and the casino of the most powerful man on the moon searching for the evil go-getter, only to find out that the destruction of his club may have been his own fault.
