Debbra Nilssen Exploring the Future
Dr. Hammond presents three possible futures Excerpts from the book and summaries from the Web Page, Which World-Global Scenarios.
Apocalyptic – One possible scenario referred to as the Fortress World Evolutionary – All scenarios are evolutionary in that the outcome is yet to be ascertained. Alternative – Forking path and multicultural in the sense that we can determine our future. The choices we made today mold and shape our present and our posterity.
Near or Deep Future: The actions of the present will shape the near future and, ultimately, the deep future. Pre- or Post-Apocalyptic: Pre-Apocalyptic. Alternative Futures: Only in the sense that the future is undecided.

Discuss Questions: a) Do you believe the future is already written or is it being written? b) Since Christianity is the dominant religion in the United States and since its underlying theme is that society as a whole is doomed with only a select few individuals being saved--with this national mentality, do you think it is possible to create a future consistent with the Transformed World Scenario? |
