Blowing In The Wind

Song: "Blowing In The Wind," Peter Paul and Mary

Trajectory of the future:

Dystopian: as a society, we are making decisions that may/will end humanity

at some point

Alternative: if we could stop being and acting ignorant as a collective

society, and open our eyes, our hearts and listen to what is going on around

us, maybe the outcome will be different than what it will inevitably will be

following the course we are on

Dimension of the future:

Near future: society is already destroying itself and we can see the

effect.

Other course objectives:

Objective 2: our future is written; we see this by our past actions

Objective 4: the depths of time are now (the things we are doing wrong)

and far (the end result)

Questions for discussion:

*As members and participants of society, we see examples of violence and

war committed everyday. We see the homeless, we hear the demonstrators and

ethic groups against war, and we see war veterans who have nothing after

serving their country. Given there are situations where war and fighting is

unavoidable, do you think our country is going to far? Not only our country

but war in general?

*This song says the answers are before us, all we have to do is

acknowledge them and learn. Do you think this is so? We have the capability

as a nation to end humanity by the nuclear war technology our government and

military possess. Do you think we will ever resort to that means of vast

destruction?
