THE SIMPLICITY OF THE APOCALYPSE

  • Film/video to discuss: The Seventh Sign, written by W.W.Wicket & George Kaplan, Released by Tri-Star Pictures in 1988.
  • Arc or state of the future:

Apocalyptic – Time moves in a straight line and there are human alternatives

Evolutionary – Cycle and the survival of the fittest, the have (saved) and the have notes (unsaved).

Alternative – Forking path, Multicultural

  • Dimension of the future: Near future, Present
  • Course objectives: Is the future "fixed" or is there other alternatives? To read Revelation from The Holy Bible, King James Version one might say yes it is "fixed" but to read other text one might say no there is "alternatives". To distinguish depths or dimensions of the future time: near and deep future; of the apocalypse we must have an understanding of time itself which the bible does not give. We can only measure time in what man himself has set as time. A thousand years to us is deep future, a thousand years to those who set down the rules of the apocalypse may just be the blinking of an eye. One sign of the apocalypse to the next sign is not given. We may already have seen one sign which would be present, the next may be in 300 years, future, from now. We can only judge depth or dimension for that which we as man writes and not that which was written.
  • View the Video: View the first two signs of the apocalypse and notice now simple the signs are presented.
  • First sign: The 1st sign takes place in an out of the way small village in Haiti on Dec. 25. The church bells ring and no one is in church, small children are play in the street with signs of immoral practices going on. With feet in the water the first seal is broken and the fish of the seas begin to die.
  • Second sign: The 2nd sign takes place in Negev, a desert in Israel, a place that most people have never heard of. It is just one small village in the middle of no where, a village know for its terrorist acts.
  • Signs of the Bible: There are many events that happen throughout the Bible where the sign are kept simple.
  • The birth of Christ was in a stable with just few on lookers.
  • John the Baptist baptized Christ in the river and again with just a few on lookers.
  • The simplicity of the apocalypse: If in the beginning the birth and the baptism of

Christ was kept simple then why would not the apocalypse also be kept simple as shown in the video.

  • Question for Discussion: Do you think the apocalypse will be kept simple as the video expresses until the final seal is broken?
