To me, the dominant culture has always been the part of society that dominated my television screen; the ones with the prettiest faces and the most money in the bank. That was my definition, however I have since come to learn that the dominant culture is not a group of people, per se; it is the behavior of the majority, which could change from one city in America to the next. While the dominant culture could be quite narrow it can also be as broad as the general behaviors and beliefs that are practiced among the biggest percentages of Americans. . . . [JH]
